August 17, 2011More Flavour (V.2.0)
October 14, 2010A couple of weeks ago I visited our friend Kim Carlsen, owner of the legendary Copenhagen streetwear/fashion store Flavour. We had a good talk about streetwear/fashion, history, Copenhagen back in the days and so on, and I got the grand tour of his all new first floor area.
Flavour has been around since 1993 in the iconic basement shop on Skindergade (19), in central Copenhagen. The shop has always been a sure shot stop for the latest streetwear styles. Through the years the shop has evolved from being a solely skate/surf shop, to today being a full on mens fashion store with all the latest contemporary styles. Therefore it was natural for Kim to expand the store from the basement to include the beautiful first floor area of the building. A space he’s been dreaming about owning for many years. Well, now his dream has come true and the result is a fresh store for the modern man with roots in streetwear and street cultures.
Be sure to swing by and say hello to Kim and peep some more pics. of the store after the jump!…

First manufactured by the U.S. Rubber Company. Keds are the first shoe to be kalled “Sneakers”, it refers to their soft, noiseless rubbersoles.
In 1949, Keds introduced a line of athletic shoes called Pro-Keds, which were intended for more serious use, specifically for basketball. Over the years many basketball players and teams wore Pro-Keds shoes while playing. The first Pro Keds product was the Classic Royal.
Pro-Keds has become synonymous with some of the biggest names in basketball history and professional sports, and attained cult status as the first real sneaker with style among New York Citty´s hip-hop community. Some of basketball’s biggest names wore Pro-Keds on and off the court, including Nate Archibald ,Kareem Abdul-jabbar and Peter Maravich.
